Hole in the wall

Work starts!

And so it begins! Starting very satisfyingly by chucking out metres and metres of disgusting decades old carpets and stripping layers and layers of wallpaper. Check out the original Victorian paper!

The fire room

The back living room and kitchen, lovingly renamed the 'fire room' where we camped for months huddling round the fire and on one worryingly occasion, possibly giving ourselves a little spot of carbon monoxide poisoning. This was also the former home of the aforementioned goldfish.

Lounge, dining room and hallway

Good job green is our colour.

Little bedroom, hallway, bathroom & garden

That carpet is obviously a keeper!

Second bedroom

The second bedroom - and a damp housewarming present lurking under the wallpaper!

Main bedroom

A very empty main bedroom and sadly the owners had ripped out the old fireplace and all we found was a very dusty bird skeleton!

Snow garden

Snow in our garden!

Operation clear-up!

This was all the junk and rubbish left to clear out! Good job we didn't turn up with all our own junk!

Long overdue update!

Hmmm, so its been a little while since my last post. A whole year actually. And a lot has happened in the last 12 months. We got married, we travelled to Morocco and we finished renovating the house. OK, so only two of those statements are actually true. In truth my house remains in a state of incompleteness - we still don't have a kitchen to speak of, we have no running water downstairs and there are no doors. We kept meaning to get things finished but its been a busy year...so this is where we've got to so far.....
